Homeopathic medicine is both practical and profound. A complete system of medicine,
it can be used to treat everything from a bee sting and an ear infection to chronic inflammation, autoimmune disorders or anxiety.
Rather than treating an isolated symptom, homeopathic medications change the disposition of the body and mind to evoke a relaxed and organized response. The effect on a particular symptom reflects a greater change in the whole system.
A skilled practitioner must understand how the patient perceives their experience mentally, emotionally and physically to select an appropriate homeopathic medication. The appropriate medication for each patient is chosen from over 2,000 remedies. Homeopathic medication is regulated by the FDA and is non-toxic.
The goal of homeopathic treatment is cure, not to manage or suppress symptoms. In some cases the results can be dramatic, in other cases change takes time. Factors that influence the course of treatment include duration of illness, depth of pathology, history of suppressive treatment and lifestyle. Usually patients will notice improvement within months in chronic conditions. Acute conditions typically show improvement within hours.
